The Staff Technologist works with patients to produce high quality radiographs, computerized tomographic procedures to assist in the diagnosis of disease and injury as prescribed by physicians. in accordance with the mission and philosophy of this facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Performs radiographic examinations per established protocols and procedures.
  • Assists radiologists and other physicians as required in the performance of radiologic exam.

  • Operates all equipment safely and efficiently and reports any equipment problems promptly.

  • Maintains room cleanliness and all necessary supplies for assigned working area.

  • Records pertinent information in order to maintain accurate records.

  • Maintains a positive representation of the department to all hospital personnel, physicians and public, demonstrating professional interactions and addressing customer's interests and concerns.

  • Maintains professional standards by participating in in-services, meetings, committees and continuing education.

  • Performs CT scans of patients.

  • Explains examination and procedure to patient and positions the patient for CT scan.

  • Prepares, operates and cares for equipment and other technical instruments used for administration of contrast agent.

  • Performs diagnostic testing on equipment and general maintenance.

  • Maintains cleanliness of the equipment and scanner room.

  • Transport patients to and from the radiology department.

  • Performs clerical functions as needed.

  • Enters data into PACS and maintains patient files.

  • Prepares films for referring providers and patient needs.

  • Participates in training new staff in the department.

  • Must be available to take call after hours and weekend. Must be onsite within 20 minutes of notification.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Skill, Knowledge or Abilities

  • Ability to use critical thinking skills.
  • Experience with Meditech RIS
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal relationship, and customer service skills.
  • Demonstrates the ability to function autonomously and is an independent decision maker.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize

  • A graduate of an approved School of Radiologic Technology.
  • Associate Degree
  • One year experience preferred
  • Registered Radiologic Technologist with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), or registry eligible within six months of graduation or hire date.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
